Chicago Printing Ink Production Club Memorial Scholarship

The Chicago Printing Ink Production Club is proud to announce the awarding of its 14th annual Memorial Scholarship.  The scholarship recipient will receive admission to the National Printing Ink Research Institute's "Introduction to Printing Ink Technology" course at Fox Valley Technical College.

This scholarship has been made possible by several factors.  First of all there was the late, Lou Nava, who had envisioned an ink-formulating course that would be run in Chicago.  Unfortunately, Lou never got to see his dream come true.  But with tremendous hard work and dedication, Dean Roeing, continued Lou's dream.  It is through Dean's efforts and with the support of the CPIPC we are pleased to announce that the CPIPC is entering its 17th year of sponsoring an ink-formulating course. This course, in conjunction with membership dues and donations, has generated the capital that is used for the Memorial Scholarship.

Our list of scholarship recipients is as follows:

1997 - Ed Friesendorf (Central Ink)

1998 - Bob Nelson (Kohl & Madden)

1999 - Tobias Steik (Central Ink)

2000 - Dave Bosak (Apollo Colors) and Jared Hinkle (Inx International)

2001 - Larry Tincher (Kohl & Madden) and Steve Hitzemann (Kohl & Madden)

2002 - Perrie Strazzabosco (Dynamic Color) and John Sperry (Fitz Chem)

2003 – John Andersen (Kohl & Madden) and Eric Anderson (Dynamic Color)

2004 – Kevin Ward (Brown Printing)

2005 – Jose A. Saucedo (Dynamic Color)

2006 – Jackie Betzel (Dynamic Color)

2007 – Charles Foca (Central Ink)

2008 – Chris Allen (Apollo Colors) and Sandra Marungo (Central Ink)

2009 - Kevin Suggs - Archway Sales Distribution and Raul Luna - Central Ink Corporation

Additionally, this opportunity would not have been possible without the efforts of so many that have come before us.  There are too many people to thank individually.  However, we would be remiss without mentioning all of the ink companies and suppliers who have been so very generous over the years, not only monetarily, but also by encouraging your employees to participate in activities and organizations such as the CPIPC.

Lastly, we would like to extend a very special thank you to all of the past presidents and board members who volunteered their time and talent to help make the CPIPC what it is today.

The eligibility and terms of the scholarship are as follows:
